Holdfast Systems (Pty) Ltd was formed in 2006 with the objective of specialising in the development, design and manufacturing of blast protective apparel. Born out of an original concept and with product development done by our sister company, Ballistic Body Armour, we realised that a highly specialised core focus was required in EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal)/IEDD (Improvised Explosive Device Disposal) equipment and UXO (Unexploded Ordnance) disposal.

Since then, Holdfast Systems has grown into a dedicated engineering and manufacturing house focused on life‑saving protective solutions for military, law enforcement, commercial bomb squads and humanitarian demining organisations. Our product range includes blast‑resistant suits, fragmentation liners, protective helmets, and modular system components engineered to withstand real‑world threat profiles. Every product is developed with a rigorous, test‑driven design process that combines ballistic science, blast dynamics, ergonomic design and field feedback to maximise operator protection while minimising fatigue and mobility loss.
